Harold Laverne Miller

September 16, 1937 — October 3, 2016

Harold Laverne Miller, 79, of Mifflinburg entered into eternal rest at 3:00 am on Monday, October 03, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on September 16, 1937 in Port Royal, the son of the late John H. and Hattie M. (Sausman) Miller.  He married Lena (Jackie) Goodman on February 28, 1959 in Port Royal, who passed way on August 19, 2011; they shared 52 years of marriage.  On October 31, 2015, he married the former Betty (Watts) Troutman, who survives.

Harold served in the United States Navy form July 4, 1955 until his honorable discharge on July 3, 1963.

Harold started his career with the former United Telephone Company, and retired from Sprint Telephone Company with 45 years of service.

He enjoyed camping at Hidden Valley Camping Resort and living in Lake Wales, Fl during the winter.  He also enjoyed music and especially playing his guitar.

Surviving are one daughter, Gwen (Miller)and Pat Pray of Shermansdale, PA, one son, Brian Miller and companion Henrique Silva of Newark, NJ, one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Beth and Lubomir Cervenansky of Selinsgrove, one stepson, Scott and Jacque Troutman of Dawfuskie Island, S.C., two grandchildren, Olney (Pray) and husband Jason Innerst of Ickesburg, PA, Michael Pray of New Bloomfield, Pa, one step grandchild, Andy Troutman and wife Kalyin of West Virginia, two great grandhildren, Jacob and Hattie Innerst, and one sister, Helen McKee of Bunkertown.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Leach, one brother Richard Miller and one brother-in-law, Donald McKee.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 East Market St, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with the Rev. Wayne S. Krell and the Rev. Robert F. Sharman, officiating.

Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, PA.
