Leon J. Keeler

September 28, 1922 — December 23, 2015

Leon John Keeler, 93, of 337 JPM Road, Lewisburg entered into rest at 11:56 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center.

He was born on September 28, 1922 in Buffalo Township, Union County, a son of the late John and Ida (Woodward) Keeler.  On September 29, 1951 in Montandon he married the former Betty D. Davies, who preceded him in death on February 1, 2000.

Leon was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1940.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.

Leon worked as a carpenter for Lee Snyder Construction Co.

He was a member of Central Pennsylvania Avian Club.  Leon was a well known for the show birds he raised and would travel and attend many shows in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Leon enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.

Surviving are one son, John G. Keeler of Lewisburg, one daughter, Judy Wagner of Troxelville, one stepdaughter, Hazel H. Fisher of Lewisburg, nine grandchildern, many great grandchildren, and one brother, Harry B. Keeler of Lewisburg.

He was preceded in death by by seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 2 pm.

Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leon`s memory may be sent to American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport PA, 17701.
