Mary Ann Hostetler, 77, of 111 Walls Road, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 10:30 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on September 8, 1938 in Enon Valley, a daughter of the late John Y. and Elizabeth (Hostetler) Yoder.  On May 14, 1955 she married Nicholas D. Klaue who preceded her in death on August 31, 1961.   She then married Abraham S. Hostetler on May 26, 1963 who preceded her in death on November 19, 1989.

Mary was a midwife; she operated a birthing center near her home in Mifflinburg and over the years delivered babies both locally and abroad.  Earlier in life she worked as a LPN in Harrisonburg, VA, and taught school at the Buffalo Creek Day School.

She was a member of Shekinah Christian Fellowship, Middleburg, and a former member of Vicksburg Amish Mennonite Church.

Mary enjoyed crocheting for the Linus Project, traveling all over the world, and spending time with family at their Jones Mountain cabin.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Lee Klaue of Woodward, Ezra B. and Pamela Hostetler of Middleburg, three daughters and three sons-in-law, Rachel and Daniel Yoder of Lewisburg, Ruth and Mervin A. Miller of Mifflinburg, Barbara and Timothy Zook of Mifflinburg, one brother and sister-in-law, John C. and Juanita Yoder of Middleburg, four sisters-in-law, Mary Klaue of Middleburg, Dorothy Frasa of  Indiana, Rachel Yoder of Middleburg, and Sylvia Yoder of Kentucky, son-in-law, Andrew R. Miller of Mifflinburg, 31 grandchildren, and 55 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca S. Miller, sister, Barbara Hostetler, four brothers, Eli Yoder, Alvin Yoder, William J. Yoder, Jacob Yoder.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewing from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at the Shady Grove Christian Fellowship Church, 5327 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM, with minister Ivan Stoltzfus, officiating.

Interment will be in the Vicksburg Amish Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary`s memory may be sent to Christian Aid Ministries, 2412 Division Hwy, Ephrata, PA 17522.
