Florine E. Smith, 92, of Mifflinburg entered into rest surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 21, 201 at Riverwoods.
She was born on December 4, 1926 in West Milton, a daughter of the late George Washington Musser and E. Florence (Walter) Musser. On April 20, 1946, she married Robert W. Smith, who passed away on December 16, 1977.
Florine graduated from Lewisburg High School Class of 1944.
She attended First Presbyterian Church, Mifflinburg, and the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene.
Florine was employed at the Lewisburg Chair Factory later known as Pennsylvania House from Oct. 1944 to April of 1946. She then worked at Yorktown Kitchens in Mifflinburg for 32 years where she retired in 1990.
Upon retirement, Florine enjoyed traveling on bus trips with friends. She also enjoyed seeing shows at Light and Sound and the American Music Theater in Lancaster. Florine was also known for her beautiful flower gardens, which she loved tending.
Surviving are two daughters and one son, Sandra K. Reitenbach of Mifflinburg, Sharon L. and Bruce E. Flanders of Port Trevorton, Michael D. and Lani Smith of Mifflinburg, seven grandchildren, Todd Erb, Michelle Zellers, Quinn Smith, Heidi Whittaker, Heather Bierly, Josh Flanders, and Bobby Flanders, seven great grandchildren, one sister Beatrice Musser of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marlin Musser, Nevin Musser, and George Washington Musser, Jr in infancy, two sisters, Gladys Fisher and Freda Musser.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1-2 pm. on Tuesday, November 26 at Adamo's 16 Walnut Street Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 2, with Pastor Wayne S. Krell, officiating.
Interment will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Florine`s memory may be sent to either First Presbyterian Church , 507 Green Street Mifflinburg or First Church of Nazarene, 12 East Market Street Mifflinburg.
