Kenneth Campbell

Kenneth A. Campbell, 88, of Mifflinburg, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at his residence.

Born Feb. 8, 1931 in Sunbury, he was the son of the late Alvin and Ruth (Dunn) Campbell. In 1993 he married Joan Dersham Haire, who survives.

Ken served as a parachute rigger with the U.S. Naval Air Force and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1950. He was an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Co. for many years before opening Campbell Insurance Agency in 1970 in Mifflinburg, retiring in 1993.
Ken was a past member of the Western Area Joint School Authority, Mifflinburg Planning Commission, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Mifflinburg. He was a life member of the Friendship Hose Co., Sunbury; National Rifle Association (NRA); North American Hunting Club; Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Association; Mifflinburg Buggy Museum; Loyal Order of MOOSE; and Jr. Rod & Gun Club of Cherry Run. He was also a member of the West Union Lions Club, Union County Sportsmen's Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Maclay Lodge #632 F.&A.M., the Williamsport Consistory.
Ken was active in shooting events and enjoyed hunting. He loved traveling to Wyoming, Colorado, and upper state New York to hunt.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: Debra Campbell, Richard Campbell, Victoria Rearick, and Sharon (Clayton) Rowe all of Northumberland; Wendy (Dewey, Jr.) Hubler of Sunbury, Kenneth Jr. (Patricia) of Selinsgrove, and Marcy (James) Schaeffer of Montandon; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Grace Wolfe of Annapolis, Md. and Rae Adams of Selinsgrove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Marlin Wolfe and Charles Adams; and two nephews, Allen and Lorin Wolfe.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11am on Saturday,  December 14, 2019 at Christ Wesleyan Church, 238 Walnut St., Sunbury, Pastor Branden Mestach officiating.  The family requests that guest wear jeans or western attire.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver, Linda Zimmerman and her dog, Twinkle Toes.
