Delbert Eugene “Gene” Kline, 84, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 11:45 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Riverwoods.
He was born on May 05, 1934 in Selinsgrove, the son of the late Paul and Alverna (Krouse) Kline. On July 23, 1955, he married the former Nancy Matters, who survives.
He was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School Class of 1953.
Gene retired from Pennsylvania House Furniture after 40 years of service. He also worked for 10 years for the Mifflinburg Area School District in the maintenance department.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Northumberland.
Gene enjoyed sports and was an avid softball player in his younger years. He also enjoyed attending his kids and grandchildren's sporting events
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bradley Kline of Florida, Darryl and Jan Kline of Mifflinburg, William and Heidi Kline of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, Andrew, Zachary, Kayla, Seth; one great granddaughter, Adelaide; one brother, Kenneth Kline of Vicksburg; three sisters, Dorothy Sauers of Mifflinburg, Fae Foster of Mifflinburg, and Marguerite Hummel of Mifflinburg.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Ritter, Arla Kline, and Romaine Boop.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday and from 10 to 11 am on Friday at Adamo’s, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with Pastors Rick Miller and Richard Kellett, officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded by veterans of the Mifflinburg American Legion and other area veterans will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
