Edna Mae Ammon, 90, of 215 Market Street, Mifflinburg, entered into rest on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Riverwoods.
She was born on November 04, 1928 in Penn Twp., Centre County, a daughter of the late George William and Anna Mae (Grove) Grove. On November 20, 1947, in Mifflinburg she married Ralph Isaac Ammon Jr, who passed away on February 11, 2011.
She was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1946.
During WWII, she made army cots, later she worked at B&Y Bookkeeping Agency, a switchboard operator at Lewisburg Chair Co., drove school bus, was the secretary to the Director of Nursing at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, and worked in the offices of Dr. Ward and Dr. Musser for many years.
Edna was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg since 1941.
“Ed” (as she is remembered by many friends) is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ralph I. (Buz) and Carol Ammon of Berwick and Douglas W. Ammon of Northumberland, one daughter and son-in-law, Scarlett R. and Stephen Erdley of Pennellville, NY, three grandsons, two granddaughters, two step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, one step great-great grandchild. Also, surviving are two nieces and one cousin, Doris Moll.
“Ed” is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, a daughter-in-law RoseMarie Ammon and a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Bill Shaffer.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market St, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 10:30, with her grandson Pastor Aaron M. Erdley of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
