Jamie Marie Hunter, 71, Sunbury, PA - passed away at home peacefully with family and friends close by her side on Saturday, January 6, 2018. It is with deep sadness we bring this news to a community she loved, where she acquired so many wonderful friends and where she lived most of her life.
Born May 7, 1946 at Trinity Hospital in Little Rock, AR, a daughter to the late James Taber “JC” and Dorothy Taber. Jamie was raised in England, where she attended high school and performed in the band as a majorette. She went on to a technical school to become licensed in cosmetology. Afterwards she married and settled in this area to raise a family. She became a small business owner of a hair salon. Aside from her work she loved her landscaping, sewing, refinishing old furniture, scuba diving and just spending time with her friends. During retirement she gave a generous amount of time to her six grandchildren she adored: Sydney Lytle, Lane Reese, Liv Reese, Liz Reese, Devin Herrold and Alexa Hunter.
Jamie is survived today by her children Susan Reese of Stonington, Becky Herrold of Selinsgrove and Gerald Hunter Jr. of Detroit. She is preceded in death by her two brothers Eli “Lindsey” Taber of Little Rock, Richard Taber of England and by her parents JC and Dorothy Taber.
At her request she will donate her body for the advancement of science. A celebration of her life service is to be held at a later time.
