Lee D. Duke

September 8, 1924 — March 25, 2018

Lee D. Duke, 93, of Selinsgrove entered into rest at 9:25 am on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at The Manor at Penn Lutheran Village.

He was born on September 8, 1924 in Milton, the son of the late Harrison and Katherine (Elliot) Duke.  On October 6, 1945, he married Edna Marie Bingaman, who passed away on December 2, 2005.

He attended Milton High School.

Lee worked as a diesel mechanic for Red Star Trucking Co., as well as his own shop, Duke’s Garage. Earlier in life he worked as a potato picker at Reitz Farm.

He was a lifetime member of the Kratzerville Volunteer Fire Co, and Loyal Order of Moose, Selinsgrove.

Lee enjoyed going to Country Jams and camping at Hidden Valley Camping Resort. He was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and attending family gatherings, especially the annual family Christmas dinner.

Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Barry Duke of Selinsgrove, Richard and Karen Duke of Winfield, Ken and Sandy Duke of Selinsgrove, Jeffrey and Melanie of Verona, Kevin Duke of Northumberland, four daughter and sons-in-laws, Jean and Jim Forbes of Winfield, Linda Leach of Lewisburg, Pamela and David Rump of Mifflinburg, Rita Kurtz of Selinsgrove, one ex son-in-law, Robert Leach of Winfield,  one daughter-in-law, Linda Duke of Selinsgrove, 24 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, three great- great- grandchildren, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Verna Duke, Roland and Josephine Duke, and Frank Duke all of Mifflinburg, Gene and Betty Duke of Linden, and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy Yost of Lewisburg, Miriam Rothermel of Duncannon, and Beverly and Rev. Roland Romig of Sayre.  Also surviving is his companion of 12 years, Rowena Lenig of Selinsgrove.

He was preceded in death by one son William Duke, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene, 543 W Sassafras St, Selinsgrove, where the funeral will be held at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Charles Milton, and Rev. William Jones, officiating.

Interment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lee`s memory may be sent to Selinsgrove Church of Nazarene, 543 W Sassafras St, Selinsgrove PA 17870.
