Marjorie J. Mitch, 83, Mifflinburg

Marjorie J. Mitch, 83, of Mifflinburg entered into eternal rest at 9:20 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center.

She was born on December 15, 1933, one of eleven children to the late John R. Dauberman, Sr. and Josephine S. (Knepp) Dauberman in Buffalo Crossroads.  On October 29, 1952, at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, she married Edgar L. Mitch, who preceded her in death on October 8, 2017.  Sunday would have been their 65th wedding anniversary.

Earlier in life, Marjorie worked as a waitress at Colonial Lunch, as a teacher’s aide and driver for Head Start, as well as a baker at IGA in Mifflinburg, before retiring to be a full time homemaker to her family.

Marjorie was member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Mifflinburg.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, embroidering, and taught herself how to crochet. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, her dog, Sarge; and her cat, Scooter.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie J. Donald E. Leach of Mifflinburg, Julia A. and William E. Morgan of Mifflinburg, Rebecca J. and James Landis of Middleburg, two sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar L. and Ruby Mitch of Mifflinburg, David J. and Jane Mitch of Selinsgrove, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, eight siblings, Alfred C. Dauberman, Beatrice L. Guernsey, Carol A. Cook, Jerry I. Dauberman, Linda L. Newcomer, Gloria J. Kratzer, Kenneth L. Dauberman and June R. Yost. Also, surviving are numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Harper L. Mitch, two brothers, John R. Dauberman, Jr., and Robert C. Dauberman.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with the Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.

Interment will be held in Mifflinburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marjorie’s memory may be sent to First Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St, Mifflinburg.
