Richard Martin Horning

Richard Martin Horning, 17, of Mifflinburg entered into rest at 10:48 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center following a 15 month battle with Lymphoma.

He was born on February 21, 2001 in Mifflinburg, a son of Mervin M. and Irene S. Horning of Mifflinburg.

He was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church.

Richard worked at a neighbor’s farm assisting with produce and dairy operations.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his parents are four siblings, Kenneth M. Horning and special friend Mary Ann Zimmerman, Kleason M. Horning, Jaydon M. Horning, Amanda M. Horning, all of Mifflinburg, paternal grandparents, Samuel Z. and Alice M. Horning of Mifflinburg, maternal grandparents, Mervin H. and Annetta M. Martin of Mifflinburg, maternal great grandparents, Amos L. and Frances M. Martin of Terre Hill, PA.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the residence of Mervin and Irene Horning, 370 Stahl Road, Mifflinburg. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Horning residence.  Further services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Scenic Ridge Mennonite Church, 718 Beaver Run Road, Mifflinburg, officiating will be Bishop Ammon Weaver, Leonard Zimmerman, Clarence Reiff, Jonathan Martin, and Ronald Ringler.

Interment will be in the Scenic Ridge Mennonite Church Cemetery.
