Adin N. Zimmerman

Adin N. Zimmerman, 77, of 191 Kaiser Run Road, Millmont entered into rest at 5:40 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Allen W. and Lovina Zimmerman of Mifflinburg. Mr. Zimmerman had been in failing health since a fall he sustained three weeks ago.

He was born on June 04, 1935 in West Earl Twp., Lancaster County, a son of the late Daniel and Minnie (Nolt) Zimmerman. On November 21, 1957 in Lancaster County he married Lydia Weaver who preceded him in death on November 14, 2001. On September 22, 2005, in Lancaster County, he married Alice L. Newswanger, who survives.

Mr. Zimmerman moved to Union County in April of 1961, and worked for his father at Zimmerman's Harness Shop, Millmont. He became owner of the shop in the early 90's, and operated the business until his retirement in 2010.

He was a member of the Mt. View Old Order Mennonite Church, Millmont.

Surviving are eight sons and three daughters, Orvie married to Marie Horst of Mifflinburg, Allen married to Lovina Hoover of Mifflinburg, Mervin married to Ruth Hoover of Millmont, Erla of New Holland, PA, Ion married to Ida Nolt of Colby, WI, Etta married to Vernon Martin of Penn Yan, NY, Wayne married to Pauline Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Lucinda married to David Hoover of Dundee, NY, Nelson married to Erma Nolt of Himrod, NY, Linus married to Linda Hoover of Dundee, NY, Elon married to Barbara Martin of Penn Yan, NY, one daughter-in-law Brenda Horst Zimmerman of New Holland, 72 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, one brother, Eli married to Sarah Reiff of Spencer, Tenn, two sisters Nora Zimmerman of Alyner, Ontario, Canada, Lena married to Phares Reiff of Lewisburg, one sister-in-law, Hettie Wenger Zimmerman of Ephrata, one brother-in-law, Amos Burkholder of Liberty, KY. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by two sons Elvin Zimmerman and Amos Zimmerman, one grandson, Edwin Zimmerman, one brother, Enos Zimmerman, three sisters, Anna Burkholder, Leah Brubacker, Edna Zimmerman, and one brother-in-law, Milton Brubacker.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8 on Sunday at the Residence of Allen W. and Lovina Zimmerman, 209 Rand Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, with further services at 9:30 a.m. from the Mt. View Old Order Mennonite Church, Kaiser Run Road, Millmont, with clergy, Esra M. Zimmerman, Phares L. Zimmerman, and Amos W. Nolt, Luke Zimmerman, and Jonathan Martin, officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. View Old Order Mennonite Cemetery, Millmont. Serving as casket bearers will be; David Zimmerman, Wilmer Zimmerman, Allen Ray Zimmerman, Marvin Zimmerman, Mark Zimmerman, and Curvin Zimmerman.
