ALFRED “BUSTER” G. WILKIE, JR., 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, surrounded by his family at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. He was born in Staten Island, NY, and has resided in Jackson Township, NJ, for the past 33 years
Alfred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, where he was stationed in Germany. He achieved the rank of SP4 (Specialist) and was recognized as a Technical Expert in radio communications, a role that required precision, reliability, and a calm presence under pressure.
Following his military service, Alfred was employed by Ford Motor Company in Edison, NJ, where he worked on the assembly line and as a painter for 30 years, retiring in 2004.
Buster loved being outdoors and was happiest near the water. He enjoyed taking trips for fishing, magnet fishing, and crabbing, always ready with a good story and a bigger smile. He also enjoyed working on home projects, building and fixing things around the house. Buster was also a die-hard New York Mets fan—a loyalty that proved he truly believed in faith, hope, and the occasional miracle. He loved movies, and every holiday season, you could count on him to watch his favorite, The Nightmare Before Christmas, a tradition year after year. You could always find him watching YouTube videos of old Staten Island, which would inevitably spark a story—sometimes two or three—about growing up there with his siblings and cousins, memories he loved sharing, reliving, and laughing about.
Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Alfred G. Wilkie, Sr., and Marie Cossean Wilkie; his sisters, Karen Wilkie and Marjorie LaMantia-Fabiitti; his brother, Martin Wilkie; his daughter, Susan Marie Wilkie, and his grand-pug, Oliver. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia Z. Wilkie, with whom he shared a life full of love, family, and cherished memories; his son, Aaron J. Wilkie of Jackson Twp.; and his daughter, Elizabeth A. Fone and her husband, Thomas, of Bayville, NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. Interment with full military honors will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Mifflinburg, PA.
