Arlene F. Belford, 86 of Lewisburg, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Buffalo Valley Skilled Nursing Center in Lewisburg. Arlene was born August 30, 1939, in Perry Township, Snyder County, the daughter of the late Sarah E. (Feltman) and Orval A. Minium. Arlene was a graduate of Lewisburg High School, Class of 1957. She worked part-time at the beloved Vic and Emma’s Restaurant in Lewisburg.

She married John B. Donahoe of Lewisburg, and together they raised four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Arlene was a co-owner of Spring Valley Furniture in Beaver Springs and, later, of John Alden’s Furniture of Selinsgrove. She worked for a time as the business office manager at Spring Valley Furniture and as manager of New York Express, a women’s clothing store in Lewisburg.

She later married William W. Belford of Milton, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing. Arlene was a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling, creating masterful flower gardens, playing Bridge and Pinochle in several card clubs, golfing, summer vacations on Fenwick Island, DE and summer picnics and walks in the forest at Ingelby. Arlene also loved her annual “Beach Girls” vacations to Ocean City, NJ, and she was widely known for making her incredible pies. Her secret? Her heavenly crusts!

Arlene is survived by two daughters, Catherine B. Donahoe Gustafson (Jon) of Lewisburg, and Susan R. Donahoe Vance (Barry) of Bluffton, SC. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Oceanna Gustafson Brubaker of Lewisburg, April Gustafson of Venice, CA, and MacKenzie Vance of Bluffton, SC. Arlene was fondly known as GiGi and is also survived by one great-grandson, Barrett Brubaker, also of Lewisburg, along with many other dear relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, William W. Belford, two sons; John Donahoe II and Jeffrey Donahoe, infant grand-daughter Rainelle Gustafson, and both of her sisters, Katie Ely and Betty Moser.
