Barbara Jean Dietrich

Barbara Jean (Leitzel) Dietrich, 64, of 896 Baker Hollow Road, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 9:08 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on February 17, 1948 in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Carl A. "Mook" and Fannie (Kramer) Leitzel. On August 27, 1966, at the New Berlin Church she married David A. Dietrich, who survives.

Barbara was a graduate of Lewisburg High School, Class of 1966, and she still enjoyed meeting her former classmates at Country Cupboard for a time of fellowship.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Cowan.

Barbara was a homemaker and worked part-time at Country Cupboard for the past 10 years. Earlier in life she worked at Yorktowne Cabinets, Mifflinburg for 13 years, and at Buffalo Crossroads Elementary School as a teacher's aide.

She was a member of the sewing club at Hoover's Sewing Center, Mifflinburg, a member of the Rebekah Club of Lewisburg, and a former member of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Mifflinburg Young Farmers.

She enjoyed gardening, Longaberger Baskets, sewing, and spending time with her lifelong friend Eliane Wagner.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and daughter-in-law; D. Anthony Dietrich, Jonathan A. and Melissa Dietrich all of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law; Kimberly A. and Darryl Sharkey of Creedmoor, NC, Rebecca and Jonathan Boop of New Berlin, 11 grandchildren; Joshua Dietrich, Olivia Dietrich, Amber Sanders, Benjamin Dietrich, Hannah Boop, Vanessa Boop, Marissa Boop, Cameryn Sharkey, Addisyn Sharkey, Bryson Sharkey, Autumn Dietrich, one great-grandchild; Kamryn Rotzler, one brother and sister in-law; Robert H. and Gail A. Leitzel of Bloomsburg.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewing from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, and from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2599 Church Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10:00 AM, with Rev. James H. Gold, officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the interment at the church social hall.

Interment will be in the Dry Valley Cemetery.
