Barbara Ann Kieffer

April 7, 1941 — January 21, 2013

Barbara Ann Kieffer, 71, of 1160 Forest Hill Road, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 10:36 PM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born on April 7, 1941 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late John V. and Leota (Nungesser) Meek. On April 22, 1962 in Jerseytown, PA she married Linn Miles Kieffer, who survives.

Barbara graduated from Milliville High School class of 1959. Following high school she attended Thompson Institute in Harrisburg for two years.

She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Mifflinburg, where she helped organized meals for those that where ill or shut-in. She was known to always take care of people.

Barbara was a homemaker. She also worked as a secretary at the Selinsgrove State Hospital, did bookkeeping at Mathison's Tax Service, and operated Kieffer's Personal Care Home.

Barbara was a member of the Good Sam RV Club, and Scattered Few RV Club, where she also served as the secretary/treasurer. She was a lifelong member of the fostering children program.

She enjoyed playing cards, camping, and traveling. Her travels took her to forty-two of the fifty states. One of her greatest joys was spending time with family and friends.


In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Stephany R. Courtney of New Berlin; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark J. Kieffer of Mifflinburg, William T.L. and Jan Kieffer of Lewisburg, Jermey R. Feese and his FiancAC." Rachel Gittens both of New Berlin; three adopted children, Abra Kieffer of Chicago, Michele Kieffer of Williamsport, David S. Feese of Mifflinburg; 25 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren one sister, Ellen and her husband Daniel Walk of Bloomsburg; three brothers, John W. Meek and his wife Martha, Eugene Meek and his wife Joyce, and Larry Meek and his wife Sharon all of Bloomsburg.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Eugene Kieffer, June 22,2005.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday at the Mifflinburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 80 Church Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 3, with the Rev. Glen Bayly, officiating.

Interment with a private committal service will take place on Monday in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara's memory may be sent to Mifflinburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 80 Church Road, Mifflinburg.
