Bertha Irene Willow

August 18, 1916 — September 9, 2015

Bertha Irene (Winkleblech) Willow, 99, of Mifflinburg entered into rest in the early morning on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at RiverWoods.

She was born on August 18, 1916 in Miles Township, Centre County, a daughter of the late Alan S. and Mary Esther (Auman) Winkleblech.  On April 21, 1935 she married Donald Allen Willow, Sr. who preceded her in death on October 18, 1977.

Bertha graduated from Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1934.

She was a member of Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church, formerly the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she played the piano, as well as taught Sunday school for many years.  She was former member of Ray's Church where she also taught Sunday school.

She was a homemaker. Her interests included quilting, traveling, reading and gardening.

Surviving are one daughter, Joan M. Fohringer of Mifflinburg, four grandchildren, Daryl Willow, Michael Fohringer, Kelly Weller, Scott Fohringer, 10 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Linda Willow of Winfield.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Willow, Jr., two granddaughters, Darlene Dean, and Diane Willow in early childhood, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Willow, four sisters, Alice Mensch,  Marion Long, Ardrenna Weaver, and Lodi Mensch, two brothers, Harold and Mahlon Winkleblech, and a son-in-law, Larry D. Fohringer.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 PM on Saturday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, officiating.

Interment will be in the Ray's Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bertha`s memory may be sent to, Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church, 954 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837
