Carol F. Wilson, 78, of Millmont, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, surrounded by her loving family. While her time on Earth ended suddenly, she left for Heaven's gates with a life beautifully lived and deeply loved.
Born on January 11, 1947, in Lewisburg, Carol was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Bilger) Shively. On April 4, 1966, she married the love of her life, Larry John Wilson, who survives her. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Carol was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School and spent her career caring for others through her work at Laurelton Center and Danville State Hospital before retiring. A proud snowbird, she cherished her winters in Florida, where she found joy in gardening, baking, sewing, and crafting heartfelt gifts to share with others.
Family was at the heart of everything Carol did. She celebrated every holiday and birthday with joy and intention, always bringing loved ones together. Known as "Nan" to her grandchildren, Carol will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm hugs, and generous spirit.
Carol was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents and her two beloved younger sisters, Joan (Terry) Shemory and Rhonda (Harry) Maurer. Though she carried the loss of her family with her quiet strength, she poured her heart into the generations that followed.
In addition to her devoted husband, Larry, Carol is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Becky and Steve Forcheskie, and Angie and Brad Walter, all of Millmont. She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Tyler (Deana) Walter, Vanessa (Justin) Edwards, Jonathon (Caitlin) Forcheskie, and Kayla (Ben) Lang. Her legacy continues through her five great-grandchildren: Naomi, Vera, and Leona Walter, Sawyer Edwards, and little Forchekie, expected this August.
Carol's love was a constant in the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.
The family will hold a private gathering to honor Carol's life.
