Carolyn M. Bowersox, 81, of Mifflinburg entered into rest on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.
Born on September 18, 1942 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Walter) Hackenberg. On March 29, 1964 in Penns Creek she married Thomas D. Bowersox, who survives. Her passing breaks a marital union of 60 years.
She graduated from Middleburg High School class of 1960. She then graduated nursing school from the PolyClinic Nursing School in Harrisburg.
Carolyn was a Registered Nurse having worked in Dr Zug's office for 22 years and then going to Riverwoods until her retirement.
She attended Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.
Carolyn enjoyed music, especially playing the organ and the piano. Over the years she performed in many weddings. She also sang in the choir while attending the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed spending time with and loving on her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband, Tom, is a son Dane A. Bowersox of Mifflinburg, a daughter and son-in-law, Suzette L. and Calvin L. Vennie of Raleigh, 5 grandchildren, Avery Bowersox, Xavier Vennie, Carrington Bowersox, Skyeler Bowersox, and Gabriella Bowersox.
She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew T. Bowersox.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Christ Wesleyan Church, Stamm Road, Milton, where the funeral will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Mike Sweigard officiating.
Interment will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
