Charles H. "Chuck" Aikey

Charles H. "Chuck" Aikey, 63, of 214 Goodman Road, Lewisburg entered into rest at 6:20 PM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center.

He was born on June 1, 1949 in Mifflinburg, the son of Mervin E. Aikey and the late Edna J. (Wirth) Aikey; who preceded him in death on December 21, 2010. On May 5, 1981 in Mifflinburg he married the former Sandra I. Oberdorf, who survives.

Chuck was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1967.

Chuck was employed at ConArga Milton for 44 years.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Lewisburg, and UFCW Local 38 Union.

Chuck enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, being around horses, attending auctions, buying junk and turning it into treasures.

He loved to stop and chat with people, tell stories, and preach the word of God. In his younger years he played softball and later coached softball for many years. He was a generous man and was always willing to help children. One of his joys was to spend time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his father and wife are three sons and three daughters-in-law; Charles H. Jr and Angela Aikey of Selinsgrove, Steven W. and Roxanne Aikey of Dexter, NY, Thomas J. and Brandi Aikey of Mifflinburg, four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kelly J. Aikey of Middleburg, Stefanie L. and Errol Carter of West Milton, Barbara K. and Michael Stimmel of Mifflinburg, Tonya L. and Michael Berge of Lewisburg, seventeen grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law, Randall L. and Sandy Aikey of Mifflinburg, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sylvia and Roger Lloyd of Mifflinburg, and Carol Bierly of Mifflinburg .

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 11 AM to Noon on Friday at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 199 Newman Road, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at Noon, with the Rev. John F. Saultz and the Rev. Gary Smith, officiating.

Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chuck's memory may be sent to The Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite #202, Wilmette, IL 60091-1064.
