Debbie Sue Mowery, a woman of great love, strength and perseverance, went to be with Jesus after passing away peacefully at her home in New Berlin on Monday, April 21, 2025. At just 62, she will be remembered as vibrant, compassionate, fun-loving, and devoted to her family.
Born on August 3, 1962, in Lewisburg, Debbie was the daughter of Ronald Sr. and the late Myrle and late bonus Dad, Jack.
She possessed a remarkable capacity for caring for others, and has left a lasting impact on her family, friends and community through her willingness to offer generous support and a compassionate helping hand to anyone in need. She was like a second mom to her children’s neighborhood friends, and through her wonderful sense of humor and truly infectious laugh, brought happiness to countless lives in countless ways.
For many years, Debbie dedicated her work to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, most recently as a leader at the Driver’s License office in Lewistown. A talented and hard-working woman, she held various professions throughout her life, including driving tractor-trailers, running a flag car service, and working as a manager at the VFW. She also served on the legion’s women’s auxiliary board for a time.
Debbie embraced life with enthusiasm and skill. She was an exceptional pool player, and proudly participated in three national championship tournaments: one in 8-ball, one in 9-ball, and one in a partner 9-ball competition with her beloved companion, Ian.
Family was at the heart of Debbie’s world. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, and made it a point to connect with her children regularly. She adored bringing her loved ones together, often through the joy of cooking and sharing meals, creating cherished bonds and lasting memories. Some of her favorite times were spent at Poe Valley State Park, a special place for family gatherings. She also enjoyed working in the garden, visiting the beach, exploring new destinations, playing cards, and having simple, good times with loved ones.
Debbie is lovingly remembered by her devoted companion, Ian; her children, Thomas and Michelle, Nina and her companion Doug, Keara and Daniel, Alora and Brent, and Larenda and her companion, Anthony; her fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life; her four brothers and three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Her love and care extended to all her children, including the memory of her beloved sons, Corey and Frankie Jr.
Debbie’s legacy is one of love, joyful laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her vibrant spirit is deeply missed by all who had the privilege and joy of knowing and loving her.
