Doris M. Shively

Doris Marie Shively, 92, formally of Millmont, PA entered into rest on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Celebration Villa, Lewisburg.

She was born in Scotland, South Dakota on April 15th, 1931, a daughter of the late Stover Eugene and Mary R. (Stover) Hess. On April 14th, 1951 at the Lutheran Church in Hartleton, she married Roger Martin Shively, who preceded her in death on December 6th, 2006. They shared 55 years of marriage together.

Doris was a 1948 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was a member of the Mifflinburg Nazarene Church.

Doris had an Honorary Keystone Farmer Degree from the Pennsylvania Association of the Future Farmers of America.

When Mrs. Shively wasn't assisting her husband on their dairy farm, she worked at various jobs over the years. She worked at The Laurelton Center, Wehr's Dairy, Philco, Farmer's Best, Country Cupboard, USTA as a van driver and at Boscov's wrapping holiday gifts for customers.

Doris enjoyed preparing meals for church gatherings, cooking for family and friends, caring for her beautiful red tulips, making crafts and her cats were always near and dear to her heart.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad R. and Wanda J. Shively of Millmont, and Brian R. and Barbara J. Shively of Millmont; three grandchildren, Erika J., Travis J. and his wife Allison, and Patricia J. Shively, three great-grandchildren, Gianna Viktoria, Kali Jo, and Cooper John as well as her extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Ray and Wayne Hess, and sisters Ethel Wert and Opal Hollenbach.

She will be buried with her husband in Hartleton Cemetery, privately at the convenience of the family.
