Dorothy Irene Aurand, 103, of New Columbia, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 5, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late Banks Womer and Flossie (Mitterling) Womer. Dorothy was first married to Walter J. Thomas, who preceded her in death. She later married Dayton Aurand, who passed away in July of 2011. Together, she and her husbands shared many years of love and cherished memories.

Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker.

She was a faithful member of God’s Missionary Church of New Columbia, where her life reflected her strong Christian faith.

Dorothy enjoyed singing, entertaining family and friends, listening to music, making homemade ice cream, and playing games. Family meant everything to her, and she especially treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Surviving are her daughters, Delores Hubble of New Columbia and Shelva Lindley of Lewistown; her sons, Kenneth Thomas of Bradford, FL, and Gerald Thomas of New Columbia; 11 grandchildren, Carl, Phyllis, Gary, Janice, Bryan, Stephine, Angela, Daniel, Jessica, Josh, and Melody; 20 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maude Shively, Clara Dressler, and Gladys Foltz, and her brothers, Carson, Roy, Harley, William, and Paul.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at God’s Missionary Church, New Columbia, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, with Rev. Brian Spangler officiating.

Interment will be in Beavertown God’s Missionary Cemetery.
