E. Wayne Keefer

Lewisburg

E. Wayne Keefer, 68, of Lewisburg passed away at : on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on December 19, 1949 in Lewisburg, the son late Elwood F. Keefer and Mary H. (Kistler) Keefer.  On June 07, 1970, he married the former Susan K. Workman, who survives.

Wayne was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School Class of 1968, where he was active in the FFA program and received the Greenhand Award and Star Farmer Award

Wayne was a self employed farmer of crops and swine. Earlier in his life he assisted his Dad with dairy farming.  He was always a hard worker and in the later years he was an English driver for the local Mennonite community.

Wayne was a member Calvary Baptist, Mifflinburg where he served as a Deacon, sang duets with his wife, and served as a youth leader.  Most recently he was attending Vicksburg Christian Community Church.

Wayne enjoyed gardening, singing, and going on rides.   He enjoyed the land and viewing his farm from his deck.

Surviving are two daughters, Heidi Joy and husband Jim Mohney of North Carolina, Becky Sue Keefer of NE, two sons, Duane Scott and wife Nancy Keefer of Mifflinburg, Ben E.  Keefer and fiancée Jessica Chandler of Mifflinburg, 8 grandchildren, Braden, Jessica, Cody, Joshua, Curtis, Isaiah, Zeyden, Madelynn,  and one sister, Carol Keefer of West Milton.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, 332 East Chestnut St, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with his Pastor Jeffrey Allen Yount, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
