Elwood C. Pursley, Jr

Elwood C. Pursley, Jr, 59, of Mifflinburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital.

He was born in Lewisburg, PA, on March 12, 1966, a son of the late Elwood Pursley, Sr. and Eleanor (Lamey) Pursley.

He was a 1984 graduate of Scotland School for Veterans Children in Scotland, PA.

Elwood began his career as a poultry handler and stone mason. More recently, he worked for Mifflinburg Lumber and Town and Country Pools.

Known for his good-humored personality and extravagant stories, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Craig Pursley, and daughter, Halie Pursley, who brought so much joy to his life; two sisters, Clara (Dennis) Kuhns of Middleburg and Harriet (David) Boop of Millmont; and one brother-in-law, Travis Boop of Millmont. Also by numerous nieces: great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Pursley and Crystal Boop.

Family and friends are invited to the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Hironimus Union Church, Weikert, with Rev. Kurt Francis officiating.

Interment will be in the Hironoums Union Church Cemetery.
