Enoch T. Powell III, 42, of Mifflinburg entered into rest at 5:56 AM on Wednesday, November 05, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on July 26, 1972 in Wilkes Barre, a son of Claire Ann (Rigg) Powell of Hughesville and the late Enoch T. Powell, Jr.  On June 16, 2001, he married the former Tracy L. Hartman, who survives.

Enoch is a graduate of Hughesville High School class of 1990, Mansfield University, class of 1994 and the Mansfield University Police Academy.

Enoch was currently serving as a police officer for the Selinsgrove Police Department for the past 8 years.  Earlier in his law enforcement career he served as a part time police officer for the New Berlin and Mifflinburg Police departments, a detective at Snyder County District Attorney’s office, DARE officer for the Snyder county schools, and public safety officer at Bucknell University.

He was a member of St. George Roman Catholic Church, Mifflinburg, Fraternal Order of the Police, Susquehanna Valley Lodge # 52.

Enoch was an Eagle Scout, Troop 26, Hughesville.  He also enjoyed hunting with the Fort Sumpter Hunting Camp and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Eric Thomas Powell, at home, one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Troy Detweiler of Muncy, one brother Thomas Powell of Hughesville, and two nieces, Emilie and Rachel Detweiler.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg.  A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 on Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. George Roman Catholic Church, 775 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg, with the Msgr. William Richardson, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Enoch`s memory may be made to St. George Roman Catholic Church, 775 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg,  17844, directed to the youth ministry program.
