Ernest Richard Sauers, 94, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest on June 16, 2026, at Watsontown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on November 10, 1931, in Mifflinburg, he was the son of the late Fred and Alice Sauers. He was married to Ruth (Fair) Sauers and his second wife, Helen (Showver) Fair, both of whom preceded him in death.
Ernest proudly served in the United States Army as a Private First Class. He entered service on March 28, 1951, in Mifflinburg, and was discharged on March 27, 1953, at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
He worked at AMP, Inc. as a tool and die maker. Ernest was a member of the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed operating his metal detector, was interested in firearms, and was a gun barrel maker.
Surviving are his children, Ernie Sauers Jr. of Sunbury, Loris (Janice) Sauers of Mifflinburg, Donette (Bill) Sechman of Montgomery, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one brother, Tom (Deb) Sauers of Shamokin Dam, and one sister, Vivian Brenizer of Mechanicsburg.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Sauers, and two brothers, Harold Sauers and Lee Sauers.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Wayne S. Krell officiating.
Burial with full military honors accorded by veterans from the Mifflinburg American Legion and Mifflinburg Veterans of Foreign Wars will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
