Eva Ruth Whited, 79, of Milton formerly of Cherry Tree entered into rest at 9:50 PM on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 14, 1935 in Cherry Tree, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Athelda Bernice (Ober) Nelson. On February 23, 1954, she married Ronald E. Whited who survives. Together, they shared 60 years of memories.
She graduated from Cherry Tree High School Class of 1953.
Eva worked as a bookkeeper at Lewisburg Builders Supply for 8 years.
She was a member of the Cherry Tree United Methodist Church, and in the past had attended the White Deer United Methodist Church.
Eva enjoyed being a homemaker, playing the organ, and was always there to help people and was active in her church, usually behind the scenes.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Debby K. and Robert J. Troutman of New Columbia, three grandchildren, Matthew Kline, Ronald Kline, Alicia Showers, 4 great grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Kristen Kline, Chase Showers, Carter Easton, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Sharon Nelson of Cherry Tree, Frank and Rosalind Nelson of Cherry Tree.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Irma Romberger and three brothers, Thomas, Edward and Samuel Nelson.
A memorial service is being planned for early spring at the Cherry Tree United Methodist Church; details will be announced at a later date.
Interment will be conducted privately in the Citizens Cemetery, Cherry Tree.
