Frances Elizabeth Ice, 72, of 502 East Howard Ave, Bellefonte, formerly of Centre Hall, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Centre Crest Nursing Home.
She was born on February 12, 1940 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late William Leonard and Ruby (Thomas) Thompson. She married Irvin Eugene Nell, who passed away on January 29, 2012.
Frances worked in the Custodial Services Department at Penn State University for 18 years. She was a member of the Teamsters Local 8, State College, where she had previously served as a Union Stewart for 10 years.
Frances was an avid reader of mystery novels; she enjoyed camping, but mostly; loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons; William Thompson of Bellefonte, Joseph Bohannon of Elizabethtown, KY, Erin Bohannon of Elizabethtown, KY; one daughter, Melissa Jelinek of Elizabethtown, KY; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leslee Ray Ice; 1 grandchild; a sister, Martha A. Beeler, and a brother; James B. Thompson.
