Georgia Schlegel, 66, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 5:40 P.M. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home, Millmont.

She was born July 14, 1960, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Nettie Schlegel. She was a 1980 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School and a graduate of Bob Jones University, South Carolina. Early on, Georgia was employed by Camp Daddy Allen, Lake Harmony, and then by Snyder Union Mifflin Child Development, Inc, in Mifflinburg. Where she worked as a teacher’s aide. 

She enjoyed attending the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene and loved God. She enjoyed shopping and traveling to South Carolina to vacation with her college friends.  Once, she surprised everyone and returned home from vacation with a new puppy in hand and full of love. Georgia loved her faithful dog, Annie, and her beloved cat, Sparky. She loved people. Georgia enjoyed spending time with family and friends and often bought them a cup of coffee. Her biggest joy was her relationship with Chase and Adelynn and being a part of their lives when they were young.

Surviving are two brothers, Chip (Jodi) Schlegel and Montana (Janice) Schlegel. Additionally, she is survived by her nephews Chase, Charlie, and Chad (Amber) Schlegel, along with a great-nephew, Lucas, and great-nieces, Adelynn, Peyton, Hailey, Taylor, and Jenna.

Georgia was preceded in death by her loving mother, Nettie, and nephew Ryan.

A celebration of life for Georgia will be held at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St, Mifflinburg, Friday, August 21st at 5:00 P.M. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception immediately following the service in the church’s social hall.

Arrangements are by Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 16 E Walnut St., Mifflinburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mifflinburg Hose Company or to the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene.
