Grace L. Miller, 93, of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, and formerly of New Berlin, passed peacefully at 9:20 A.M. on Tuesday April 9, 2013.
Born November 28, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. Lenker and Clara Wilkinson Lenker. She was united in marriage to Robert W. Miller on August 28, 1937, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2008.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn G. Miller and his wife Mary, of Lewisburg; Wayne R. Miller, of Centerville, Maryland; and, Dale L. Miller and his wife Joan, of Lewisburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Michael Robert Miller of Williamsport; Michelle Lynn Sanderford of Charlotte, North Carolina; Christian Todd Miller and his wife Jennifer of Grasonville, Maryland and their children Kylie and Luke; Jennifer Lynn Jones and her husband David and their children Grace and Sarah of Lothian, Maryland; Jessica Erin Pragada and her husband Robert, and their children Bobby and Cahlin of Radnor, PA; Adam Wayne Miller and his wife Deanna, and their children Madeline, Jacob and Nathan of Centerville, Maryland; Kelly Miller Barrick and her children Elena, Sammy and Will of Lewisburg; and, Matthew M. Miller and his wife Beth and their children Madelyn, Max, Bobby and Grace of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank W. Lenker and Kenneth Lenker, a sister Effie Smith and by an infant son at the age of three days.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in New Berlin. She loved cooking and spent many hours canning or freezing fruits and vegetables for her family. During her lifetime she hosted many quilting bees in her home in New Berlin and at one time kept over 100 hand stitched quilts, many of which went to her children and grandchildren. She also owned and managed the Towne House Restaurant in New Berlin during the mid-1970's.
A memorial service to celebrate Grace's life will be held at Noon on Friday at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market Street, New Berlin, with Pastor Dawn Marie Meier and the Reverend Dr. Gary A. Hackenberg, officiating.
Interment will be conducted privately in the New Berlin Cemetery.
