Harold M. "Hubee" Spangler, 89, of New Berlin, entered into rest on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his residence.
Born on March 12, 1935, in New Berlin, a son of the late Paul R. Spangler and
Elma M. Wetzel. On October 11, 1959, he married the former Mary A. Herb, who survives.
Harold was a graduate of the Mifflinburg High School class of 1954.
He served in the US Army from October 10, 1955, to his honorable discharge on October 9, 1957.
Harold retired as a carpenter for Spangler Brothers Construction. He had previously worked at PennDot and Princess Homes.
He was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Berlin, New Berlin Fire Co., and Camp Keeawae Hunting Cabin.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing baseball.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Mary, is one daughter, Teresa E. (Dean) Wolfgang Winfield, three grandchildren, Chad M. (Erin) Wolfgang of Lewisburg, Kyle Spangler, and Kayla Spangler, both of Mifflinburg, daughter-in-law, Pam Spangler, brother, Orville Spangler of Winfield, one sister, Julia Fetter of New Berlin. Numerous nieces and nephews and three grandnieces, Audrey, Kinley, and Natalie Resseguie, also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas M. Spangler, four brothers, Rev. Kenneth Spangler, Alvin Spangler, Clair Spangler, Gary Spangler, and one sister, Mirian Reich.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. The funeral will be held at 11, with Pastor Beverly Hoffman officiating.
The interment with full military honors will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church or the New Berlin Fire Company.
