Ioan Negrea

Ioan Negrea, 72, of Zion Grove, PA passed away on December 02, 2024, at his son's home in New Columbia, PA. 

Ioan (Nelu), a retired Electrical Engineer, was born on March 15, 1952 in Resita, Romania. He served in the Romanian military from 1970-1972. In 1982, after a courageous and harrowing swim across the Danube River to escape Romania's communist regime, he and his family came to live in the United States. They settled in Pennsylvania where he enjoyed the outdoors, small scale building projects, and cultivating his vineyard. 

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ioan and Elisabeta (Montreanu). He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Tveta (Ieremici) Negrea, two sons, their wives, one grandson and three granddaughters.

Services will include a viewing to be held on December 07, 2024 at the Adamo Funeral Home in Mifflinburg, PA from 10-10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at the Turbotville Cemetery officiated by Rev. Dennis Moore. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
