Isabel “Betty” Stahl Johnson, 92, of Millmont entered into rest at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Rolling Hills Manor.
She was born on June 12, 1923 in Mifflinburg, the daughter of the late Roy L. and Esther D. “Dieffenderfer” Stahl. At the First Evangelical Lutheran Churchm, Mifflinburg, she married Paul E. Johnson, who passed away on December 28, 1999.
Isabel graduated from Mifflinburg High School Class of 1941.
Betty was a homemaker. Earlier in life she worked for the state department in Washington, DC during the war and later as a teacher’s aide for the Mifflinburg School District.
Isabel was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was active in various church activities and sang in the choir.
She was a member of civic club, bridge club, and the bowling team.
Isabel enjoyed dancing, knitting, needlepoint, and reading. She liked spending time with her grandchildren, going out for dinner, traveling, visiting the shore, spending winters in Tampa, and Penn State Football.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin W. and Deborah Johnson of Millmont, one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Earl Young of Florida, four grandchildren, Nicole Paul, Jerome Johnson, Adam Young, Brendon Young, and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roy L. Stahl, Jr.
A memorial service is being planned for early summer and will be announced when details are finalized.
