John H. Hoover

John H. Hoover, 74, of Millmont entered into rest on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born on July 9, 1949 in West Earl Twp, Lancaster, County, a son of the late Amos N. and Alice N. Hoover. On December 10, 1970, he married the former Verna L. (Fox) Hoover, who survives. 

He was a member of Mountain View Church, Groffdale Conference. 

John was a retired farmer. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin and Ada Hoover of Millmont, Samuel and Loretta Hoover of Mifflinburg, John and Linda Hoover of Millmont, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandsons, four brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph and Margaret Hoover of Millmont, Amos and Elizabeth Hoover of Mifflinburg, Raymond and Rachel Hoover of Dundee, N.Y., Lewis and Brenda Hoover of Mifflinburg, eight sisters, Ada and Jonathan Martin of New Holland, Verna and Carl Duke of Mifflinburg, Alice and Wesley King of Belleville, Edna Weaver of Millmont, Minnie and Steve Peachey of Reedsville, Etta and Joseph Zimmerman of Dorchester, WI, Lucy and Edward Martin of Mifflinburg, Louella and Edward Zimmerman of Stevens. one sister-in-law, Mary Hoover of Mifflinburg, two brothers-in-law, Eli Martin of Millmont, and Phares Horning of Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Shannon Hoover, Michele and Jamin Hoover, one brother, Allen Hoover, two sisters, Nora Martin and Anna Horning, and one brother-in-law, Raymond Weaver. 

Family and friends will be received from 1:00 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the family's residence, 1991 Paddy Mountain Road, Millmont. The family service will be held at 9 AM Monday, April 15, 2024 at Kenneth and Anna Martin's residence, 14340 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont with additional services at 9:30 AM at Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church with Bishop Lloyd R. Zimmerman and the church's home ministry officiating. 

Interment will be in the Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery, Millmont, PA.
