John Kent Hewson Jr., 91, of Williamsburg, VA, entered into rest at 1:35 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.
Born January 11, 1935, in Morristown, NJ, he was the son of the late John Kent Hewson and Neva Blodgett Corbus. He was married to the former Adolphine “Dolly” Huffstadt Hewson, who preceded him in death. Together, they shared many years of cherished memories.
John worked for many years in marketing and sales within the food industry. He was known for his dedication to his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.
He enjoyed classical music, sailing, and cycling. John especially loved taking extended sailing and cycling trips with his brother, Robert. Family time was important throughout his life as well. He took great delight in his great-granddaughter, Gresham, and her many interests… including their shared love of NYC!
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Tony Ruiz of Winfield; two sons, Michael Hewson of Lansdale and Daniel Hewson of Montclair, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Katie Ruiz (Caroline) and Matthew Ruiz; one great-granddaughter, Gresham Adele; and four brothers, Richard (Karen), Robert (Michelle), Jeffrey, and William (Sharon).
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by family members, including his Aunt Teedy and Grandmother Mer, who welcomed him into eternal rest.
Services will be held privately.
