John Willard Pontius, 75, of Middleburg entered into rest on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on August 7, 1948 in Lewisburg, the son of the late Willard Pontius and Geraldine (Derr) Libby.
John was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1967.
He was a standout wrestler and one year made it to the PA State Wrestling Championship.
He was a retired owner/operator truck driver after many years on the road.
John was a social member of the Berwick VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR. He also loved to spend time with his brothers.
He is survived by his significant other, Leann Hollister of Middleburg, two daughters and son-in-law, Patti Pontius of Florida, Renee and Dale Gemberling of Penns Creek, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three sisters, Bonnie Bilger, Donna Steese, Deana Reber, and a brother, Bill Pontius.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffery Pontius, and Michael Pontius, one grandson, Brandon Pontius, and his beautiful daughter, Kristy Jo Pontius.
In keeping with John's wishes there will be no services.
