Johnson Frederic Miller

April 3, 1935 — March 15, 2019

Johnson Frederic Miller, 83, of 238 Raven Lane, Mifflinburg, formerly of  631 Church Road, Mifflinburg entered in rest at 2:10 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Evangelical Community Hospital.

He was born on April 3, 1935 in Hanover, a son of the late Lester W. and Edith M. (Doyle) Miller.  On September 12, 1959, at Driesbach United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Raymond Fisher he married the former Mary Lou Ard, who survives.

Johnson was a graduate of Lewisburg High School class of 1953.

He was a US Army veteran having served from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean War.

Mr. Miller and his wife, Mary Lou, purchased the former JB Blair farm located on Church Road, Mifflinburg in 1962 and operated it until 2012, at which time they sold it but continued to live there until 2016.  While operating the farm he also worked as a field man for Allen Cark Poultry (Mr. Red) and then as a laborer at ACF Industries, Milton, until his retirement.

Johnson was a member of the Driesbach United Church of Christ and the Lewisburg American Legion.

He was an avid trapper, and enjoyed trout fishing.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, COL(R) William P. Miller, US Army, and wife Lee of Eagle River, AK, Michael D. Miller and wife Terri of Mifflinburg, four grandchildren, Amanda Rosco and husband Justin, MAJ Zachary P. Miller, US Army and wife Kiersten, CPT Thaddeus S. Miller, US Army and wife Lisa, Lance D. Miller and wife Katrina, five great grandchildren, Nanette, Amelie, Eloise, Jaxson, and Emma-Kate.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Pursley, and one brother, Lester Miller, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at Adamo’s Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg.

Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Johnson`s memory may be sent to the Animal Rescue Organization of you’re the donor’s choice.
