Joseph H. Hoover

Joseph H. Hoover, 80, of Millmont, entered into rest on September 29, 2026, at his residence, 638 Pleasant Grove Road, Millmont.

Born on October 10, 1945, in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Amos N. and Alice N. (Hoover) Hoover. He married Margaret Z. (Weaver) Hoover, who survives.

Joe was a farmer and a member of Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, Millmont.

Survived by his loving wife, Margaret, together they had 12 children, the late John Hoover and Joanna Hoover of Lewisburg, Ellen and Alvin Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Ada and Owen Martin of Hughesville, Luke and Ada Mae Hoover of Mifflinburg, the late Mark and Marian Hoover of Elkton, KY, James and Ella Mae Hoover of Mifflinburg, The Late Martha Hoover, Steven and Ruthie Hoover of Mifflinburg, Esther and Clair Horning of Mifflinburg, Daniel and Ruth Hoover of Mifflinburg, and Mary and Anthony Reiff of Mifflinburg, Sarah Ann and Daryl Weaver of Millmont; 83 grandchildren; and 74 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Amos and Lizzie Hoover of Mifflinburg, Raymond and Rachel Hoover of Himrod, New York, Lewis and Brenda Hoover of Mifflinburg, Ada and Jonathan Martin of New Holland, Verna and Carl Duke of Mifflinburg, Alice and Wesley King of Belleville, Edna Weaver of Millmont, Minnie and Steve Peachey of Reedsville, and Etta and Joe Zimmerman of Dorchester, Wisconsin, Lucy and Edward Martin of Mifflinburg, Louella and Edward Zimmerman of Lamar, OH; four brothers and sisters -in-law, Eli Martin of Millmont, Mary Hoover of Mifflinburg, Phares Horning of Mifflinburg, Verna Hoover of Mifflinburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, John Hoover and Mark Hoover; one daughter, Martha Hoover; one grandson, Alvin Martin; one great-grandson, Cody John Hoover; two brothers, Allen and John Hoover; and two sisters, Nora Martin and Anna Horning; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Weaver.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the home of Daniel Hoover, 347 Hoover Road, Mifflinburg. The family service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the home. Further services will follow at Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, Kaiser Run Road, Millmont, with Bishop Lloyd Zimmerman officiating.

Interment will be in the Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery.
