Larry L. Pfirman

January 22, 1946 — October 3, 2025

Larry LaRue Pfirman of 113 Countryside Lane, Lewisburg, PA, passed away at his home on October 3, 2025.

He was born on January 22, 1946, to Paul and Irene (Crabb) Pfirman at their home in Montgomery.

Larry graduated from Montgomery High School in 1963. Upon graduation, Larry enlisted in the military, serving in the Army from 1963 to 1966.

He married Deborah Louise Metzger on October 12, 1968, and his death broke a marital union of 56 years. Together, they had three children: Steven Lin Pfirman of Jupiter, FL, Pamela Lou Pfirman of Mifflinburg, PA, and Tara Lee Pfirman Humphrey of Lewisburg, PA.

Through the years, Larry worked at The Basket, Chef BoyArdee, and Darling Valve before purchasing and operating several H&R Block offices. In the early 1970s, Larry opened Spectro Knit and later, Tara Lee Sportswear and Patrilda Sportswear, where he employed hundreds of people during the years of their operation. One of Larry’s most proud professional achievements was serving on the Board of Directors for CACI, International.

Larry was an avid sports fan and was very involved with the Mifflinburg Wrestling Association and the Mifflinburg Youth Football programs. He was a fan of Penn State Athletics, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Eagles, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his younger years, he was a fan of hunting, which he later replaced with a passion for golf. Larry enjoyed spending the colder seasons at his home in Stuart, FL.

Larry is survived by his wife, Deb and his children, Steve Pfirman, Pam Pfirman and Tara Humphrey, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Donna Davis (John), Illona Arbogast, Toni Miller (Lester), Marjorie Joe, Sharon Bennett (Art), his brothers, Dustin Pfirman (Nancy), Glen Pfirman, Stanley Pfirman (Cindy), Robert Pfirman, brothers-in-law - Roger Zettlemoyer and Bill Purdue as well as dozens of nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Irene (Crabb) Pfirman; his sisters, Wanda Blakey and Nancy Zettlemoyer; his brother, James Pfirman; his brothers-in-law, Delbert Blakey and Lee Arbogast; his Sister-in-Law, Madeline “Jean” Pfirman; and his Son-in-law, David Humphrey.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg and on Thursday, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Road, Lewisburg where a service to Celebrate Larry's life will be held at 11 with Pastor Jon Yost officiating.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry's memory may be sent to Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Road, Lewisburg PA 17837.
