LeRoy A. Greaser, 80, of 235 Creek Road, New Columbia entered into rest at 12:38 AM on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Kramm Health & Rehabilitation, Milton.
He was born on September 5, 1932 in Franconia Twp., Montgomery County, the son of the late LeRoy and Alma (Alderfer) Greaser. On October 13, 1956, in Souderton he married the former Nancy Arlene Derstine, who survives.
While residing in Souderton LeRoy was employed at Keller's Creamery in Harleysville, PA. In 1970 he moved to Loysville, Perry County, and worked at the Loysville Youth Development Center for 3 years. He then moved to New Columbia, Union County, in 1974 where he was engaged in dairy farming until his retirement in 1994. Following his retirement he continued to assist his son on the farm until 2009.
LeRoy was a member of Community Mennonite Fellowship Church in Milton.
LeRoy enjoyed playing baseball and was a coach of a church softball team while residing in Souderton. He also enjoyed playing cards and board games, hunting, and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. LeRoy loved to spend time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jean and Joe Sharp of Whitesville, NY, two sons and one daughter- in-law, Ken Greaser of Mifflinburg, Terry and Stacey Greaser of New Columbia, seven grandchildren, Katie Troup and husband Justin of Mifflinburg, Liz Martin and husband Dustin of Mifflinburg, Juddson Sharp and wife Megan of New Columbia, Sarah Brayda and husband Andrew of Rochester, NY, Rashelle, Zane, and Derek Greaser all of New Columbia, 10 great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Robert Rice of Sellersville, one sister-in-law Eva Greaser of Landsdale.
He was preceded in death by one brother Robert Greaser.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 9:30 to 11 on Thursday at Community Mennonite Fellowship Church, 2985 Broadway Road, Milton, where the funeral will be held at 11, with The Rev. David Martino, officiating.
Interment will be in the Beaver Run Mennonite Cemetery, Turbotville.
