Louise Smith Toroian, 88, of Altoona entered into rest at 12:46 PM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Altoona Regional Hospital.
She was born on April 27, 1924 in Lexington, VA, a daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Mary Virginia (Hostetter) Smith. On June 15, 1946, she married Simon Theodore Toroian, who passed away on May 22, 1994.
Louise graduated from Lexington High School, Class of 1942.
Mrs. Toroian was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church of Altoona.
Louise enjoyed playing softball in her younger years and writing poetry.
Surviving are Timothy K. Troian of Altoona, Phillip and Nancy (Leicht) of Blue Diamond, Nevada, Michael T. and Diane Tororian of Butler, PA, Virginia A. and Dale Knepper of York, Cheryl L. and Patrick Kelley of Roanoke, VA, George R. and Pamela Toroian of Altoona, Rachelle and Vladimir St. Phard of East Windsor, New Jersey, nine grandchlidren, Jacob, Marcus, Angela, Sophia, Karis, James, Coby, Lewis, Kyler, two great grandchildren, Joshua and Haley, two sisters, Bessie V. Sligh and Pearl Mae Goodbar both of Lexington, VA .
She was preceded in death by three sisters Jettie Smith, Edna Brown and June Brown and three brothers Russell, Daniel and Raymond.
Family and friends are invited to memorial service on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 4pm at the First Grace Brethren Church, 2934 Maple Ave, Altoona, with the Rev. John C. Townsend, officiating.
