Marjorie L. Hackenberg

Marjorie L. Hackenberg, 69, of Lewisburg, entered into rest on December 31, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born on May 24, 1956, in Lewisburg, Marjorie was the daughter of the late John A. Hackenberg and Dorothy (L.) Limbert Ertel.

Marjorie was a graduate of Middleburg High School, Class of 1974. She later attended Williamsport College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree. She was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) for many years, retiring following a dedicated career.

Marjorie had a heart of gold and was known as a kind and compassionate person. In recognition of her character and quick action, she was honored by the police department for saving a life. She enjoyed gardening—especially growing herbs—traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteered at RiverStage Community Theater in Lewisburg and enjoyed continuing her education by taking Bucknell University’s Lifelong Learning courses.

Surviving are two brothers, Stanley Ertel of Rochester, New York, and H. James Hackenberg and his wife, Kathy, of Spring Grove; nieces and nephews, Ronda Shultz, Todd Holland, Matt Holland, Dan Hackenberg, Tom Hackenberg, Jen Hackenberg, Katy Hackenberg, Scott Ertel, and Greg Ertel; and her companion, Paul, along with his family, Kim, Amira, and Mike.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, John (H.) Hackenberg, and her sisters, Nancy Holland and Minerva Hackenberg.

In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, a family service will be held in the spring.
