Marshall Elwood Duke, 86, of Mifflinburg passed away at 11:25 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at South Mountain Restoration Center.
He was born on March 28, 1930 in West Buffalo Township, Union County, the son of the late Harrison Fairchilds and Kathryn LaRue (Elliot) Duke.
He was a medically discharged US Army veteran.
Marshall worked at processing scrap for the past 30 years. Earlier in life he hung drywall for Chris Peachey.
He enjoyed buying and selling used automobiles.
Surviving are eight siblings and their spouses, Lee D. Duke and companion Rowena of Selinsgrove, Miriam L. and Ducannon Rothermel, Rolland R. and Josephine Duke of Mifflinburg, Franklin E. Duke of Mifflinburg, Nancy A. Yost of Lewisburg, Carl L. and Verna Duke of Mifflinburg, Eugene H. and Betty Duke of Linden, and Beverly E. and Rev. Roland Romig of Sayre. Also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida R. Pardoe, Ruby I. Miller, Donnas Mae Ogden, three brothers, George L. Duke, Robert W. Duke, and Fred L. Duke.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 9 to 10 AM on Monday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 10, with the Rev. Roland Romig, officiating.
Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
