Marvin Kenneth Walter Sr

October 10, 1925 — February 17, 2014

Marvin Kenneth Walter Sr, 88, of 449 Cold Run Road, Millmont entered into rest at 11:30 PM on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Rolling Hills Manor.

He was born on October 10, 1925 in Center Twp, Snyder Co., a son of the late Thomas A. and Myrtle E. (Hunt) Walter. On October 18, 1975, in Riverdale, MD he married the former Jo Ann A. Semmens, who survives.

Marvin was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

On February 23, 1945 Marvin enlisted in the US Army serving in WWII with the Headquarters Battalion, Manila Engineer District as a truck driver. He was honorably discharged on September 23, 1946 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Marvin worked as an Equipment Supervisor/ Operator for Williams Construction of Baltimore MD and Excavation Construction of Bladensburg, MD. Earlier in life he was engaged in farming in Center Twp., Snyder Co. and later worked for AC&F in Milton and High Steel Structures, Lancaster.

He was a member of Local 547 IUOE, Philadelphia, Local 37 IUOE, Baltimore, Local 77 IUOE, Washington, DC. He also was a member of Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge #370, Mifflinburg, Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 622, Annapolis MD, Benfer-Miller Post #957, American Legion, New Berlin, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1456, Glen Burnie, MD.

Marvin enjoyed raising Beagles and Hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Marvin K. and Joyce Walter of Hartleton, Dennis L. and Deborah M. Walter of Adamstown, MD, two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon L. and William Reichard of Mifflinburg, Dawn E. Walter of Penns Creek, stepson and wife, J. Dirk and Carol A. Fye of Davidsonville, MD, 10 grandchildren and spouses, Doug and wife Tonya Walter, Danielle and husband Jason Dressler, Craig and wife Tina Reichard, Nicole Reichard, Kimberly and husband Ronald Koontz, William L. Stouffer, Tabitha Walter, Jessica Fye, Katie Fye, Stevi Fye, 11 great grandchildren, Ty Walter, Cole Walter, Luke Walter, Cade Dressler, Troy Dressler, Craig (CJ) Reichard, Jr, Terri Reichard, Brennon Stouffer, Joshua Stouffer, Jacob Stouffer, Emereigh Fye. .

He was preceded in death by by his first wife, Cletus Stahlnecker, one brother, Foster Walter, and a special aunt, Laura Hunt.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where a memorial service will be held at 11, with the Rev. Richard L. DeVett, officiating. Military honors will be presented as part of the memorial service by veterans from the Mifflinburg American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marvin’s memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 1420 Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
