Nancy Louise Raker, 70, of 100 East Green Street, Mifflinburg passed away at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
She was born on October 28, 1946 in Sunbury, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Louise W. (Dietz) Burns. On December 20, 1964, in West Milton she married Daniel Franklin Raker, who survives. They shared 52 years of marriage.
Nancy had worked as an associate at Wal-Mart for 12 years. Earlier in life she worked for Milton Developmental Services, and Huntingdon Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg.
Nancy was a member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, flowers, collecting nutcrackers and carousels. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother and attending all the kids’ activities.
Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy Lou Musser of Sunbury, Kimmy A. and Joseph Smith of Millmont, Danielle N. Shingara of Pleasant Gap; four grandsons, Adam S. Musser, Christopher A. Minium, Joey Smith, Patrick Shingara; one great-grandson, Garrett Minium; two brothers, Robert Sanders of AZ, Walter Scott Burns of Utah; two sisters, Helen Bobb of Milton, Bonnie Minderhout of Bloomsburg; and one sister-in-law, Sandy Burns of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Burns and Jimmy Burns; and a son-in-law, Grey A. Shingara.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service at 1:00 pm on March 18, 2017 at the Mifflinburg Hose Company, 325 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, with Pastor Eric Reamer, officiating.
