Nevin George Wert, 87, of Mifflinburg went to be with the Lord at 7:40 AM on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on September 29, 1930 in Lewisburg, the son of the late Nestor and Kathryn (Mitchell) Wert. On June 18, 1954, he married the former Dorothy Mae Ramsey, who survives.
Nevin graduated from Mifflinburg High School class of 1949.
Following high school he enlisted in the US Army serving from March 29, 1951 until his honorable discharge on March 28 1953.
Nevin worked for BZ Motors as an auto body repairman until his retirement. After he retired he started back and worked doing vehicle transportation and in the parts department.
Nevin was a charter member of the Mifflinburg Church and the Nazarene.
He enjoyed restoring antique cars, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Josephine” Dolly” and Roland Duke of Mifflinburg, Madelon and Dwight Herrold of Selinsgrove, several nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Patsy R. Loss of Mifflinburg.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market Street, Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be held at 11, with the Rev. Wayne Krell, officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded veterans from the Mifflinburg American Legion and other area veterans will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nevin’s memory may be sent to Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market Street, Mifflinburg or Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, Pa 17844.
