Rodney J. Conner

April 1, 1949 — May 3, 2025

Rodney J. Conner, 76, of Lewisburg, entered into rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born on April 1, 1949, in Jackson, MI, the son of the late Floyd L. and Evelyn B. (Kleinknight) Conner. On June 8, 1973, in Grand Rapids, MI, he married the former Linda K. Shawback, who survives him. Together, they shared 51 years of wonderful memories.

Rod graduated from Parkside High School in Jackson, MI, in 1967 and received his Bachelor's degree from Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and Seminary.

Rod and Linda moved to Lewisburg in 1978, where Rod pastored the Reformed Baptist Church for 23 years. Following his time in the local church, God called Rod into missions, where he served for 12 years, helping to establish a Reformed Missionary training school called To Every Tribe in Los Fresnos, Texas, and serving on the mission field in Papua New Guinea and Mexico.

Rod continued to attend and minister at RBC in Lewisburg, serving as an interim pastor and elder.

Rod’s greatest earthly delight was his family. He spent many of his days alongside his wife, cheering on his fifteen grandchildren in all their various sports and activities.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his four children: Jeff and Stephanie Conner of Mifflinburg, Christopher and Janette Conner of Selinsgrove, Tim and Joya Conner of Lewisburg, Kim and Jeremiah Bennett of Lewisburg; fifteen grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Jackson, Ethan, Noah, Riley, Chase, Brooke, Tristen, Emma, James, Kira, Alli, Abby, Harrison; and two sisters, and brothers-in-law Nancy and Glen Webb of Lewisburg, Carol and Mike Judkins of Fairfax, VA.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Winfield Baptist Church. After the service, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rod's memory may be sent to the Rod Conner Memorial Athletic Fund at Northumberland Christian School, 351 5th Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.
