Shirley A. Bingaman

Shirley A. Bingaman, 91, of Millmont, PA, entered into rest on January 29, 2026, at Rolling Hills Manor.

She was born on May 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet (Bouy) Anderson. She was married to Dr. Dahl D Bingaman, who predeceased her in February of 2024.

Shirley graduated from Mifflinburg High School and obtained a degree in education from Bucknell University. She was a dedicated and much-beloved fifth-grade teacher in the Mifflinburg School System for many years. She was instrumental in developing the Outdoor Education Program, held each year at Wesley Forrest.

She is survived by a daughter, a grandson, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Shirley loved the ocean, nature, and traveling. She and her husband traveled to many State and National parks to see rare plants and wildlife. They frequently summered in Canada and, after retirement, wintered by the sea in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was an avid reader and quilter.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, any gifts of remembrance can be made to the West End Library in Laurelton, PA.
