Shirley L Keister

November 8, 1938 — September 30, 2014

Shirley L. “Mirfy” Keister, 75, of New Berlin passed away at 4:30 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at The Manor at Penn Village.

She was born on November 08, 1938 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nellie Florence (Ross) Musser.  On April 13, 1968, she married Russell William “Shaky” Keister, who passed away in 1998.

Shirley was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1956.

Mirfy worked as a seamstress and supervisor at Miss Siren, New Quaker, and NQII.

She was a longtime member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.  She was always involved in making baked goods for various church sales and was known for her raisin crumb cookies.

Shirley enjoyed baking and cooking, camping at the beach, fishing, and spending time with family.  She was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching NASCAR, Penn State and the Seattle Seahawks football games.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Jean Musser of Millmont, one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Albert Ranck of Mifflinburg, four nieces and nephews, Randy Musser and wife Tina, Stephen Musser, Renee Stahl, Heather Kurtz and Husband Shane, two step nephews, Keith Ranck and wife Heather, and Joseph Ranck and wife Mindy, three great nieces and nephews, Nichole Diehl and husband Thomas, Lucas Kurtz and Rhyann Kurtz.

She was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Sharon Elaine Musser.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday and from 2 to 3 PM on Friday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 3, with Pastor Jim Cope and Rev. Alice Rauch, officiating.

Interment will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley`s memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, Pa 17701.
